From the Provider
“After becoming a parent, I returned to work with even more passion for how we support people postpartum. I felt both totally prepared and completely unprepared in my own life—and I want others to have real information, real options and real support.”
About the Provider
Mia has had a lifelong pull toward pregnancy and birth; nurse-midwifery became the way to put credentials behind that focus. A formative stint as a Planned Parenthood medical assistant showed her how evidence-based gynecologic and well-person care can be just as transformative as supporting people during pregnancy—making things understandable, validating what people feel, and keeping decisions in their hands. Her own experience becoming a parent deepened her commitment to care that is clear, respectful and steady.
In practice, Mia starts from a simple premise: people bring a lifetime of experiences into even the most routine visits. She provides well-person, gynecology, pregnancy and postpartum care with an emphasis on comfort and consent. She’s especially helpful at decision points that can feel overwhelming—contraception, fertility and postpartum care—and partners with people to sort reliable information from internet noise. Mia’s clinical interests include PCOS management, infertility and hands-on techniques in pregnancy, such as myofascial release and fetal positioning. She welcomes adolescents and young adults and cares for LGBTQ+ patients and families with attentiveness to language, goals and the many pathways to building a family.
When she’s not in clinic, you’ll likely find Mia doing new-parent things (i.e., staring at her baby), moving her body (dance class, a quick run or hike), or playing a good hand of cribbage with her husband. Evenings with family and friends and the latest episode of Survivor are a steady joy; her needlepoint hobby is a work in progress.
